DeWitt Family: Catching Up

On September 9, 2014 at 10:10 am Reagan JoAnn was born. She was 7lbs 12oz and 20.5 inches long. Here is the story. So on the 8th it was my birthday and Michael took me out to a Mexican restaurant in Price. Mom watched Rylee and Becca so that we could go. It was really really good food and after we went to Walmart to get a few things. I was having a few contractions but nothing big. After we got home we all went to bed. I had a hard time sleeping I just couldn't get comfortable. I woke up at 6 and went to the bathroom. I had a little bit of blood so I facebooked my doc to see if I should go in or if it was okay. I got up from the toilet to go get in the shower and that is when I started having contractions and they were hard and very close together. So I hurried and called mom hoping to catch her before she left for work. She was already on her way to work I told her to turn around that I think I needed to go to the hospital. Then I went and woke up Michael and told him I was having contractions but before we go to the hospital I wanted to take a shower lol I don't know why but I really wanted a shower. So after the shower the contractions were even stronger and closer together. As soon as mom got to the house Michael and I left for the hospital. I started to time the contractions then and they were anywhere from 2 mins to a min apart. I was praying the whole way to the hospital that we would make it. There was no way Michael would be able to delivery a baby on the side of the road. We got to the hospital at about 7:45 and Michael ran in and got a wheel chair and we went right to OB. There was nobody at the desk so Michael went looking for someone. Good thing he works at the hospital and knew where to look. A nurse named Mary came and took one look at me and said lets get you a room. So got into a room and all dressed and hooked up and man I was hurting. Lots of back labor. Mary called Doc Bradshaw to let him know I was here. Labor was very hard and fast less than a min. She checked me and I was at a 5 almost a 6. Bradshaw came in and let me know he was going to stay very close by so he wouldn't miss it. (He was doing surgery when I had Rylee so he missed it) So they get the IV in they had a hard time getting that in. Well I was Group B positive but am allergic to Penicillin and the other medicine they wanted to give me hurts my tummy and makes me throw up. So they find another kind to give me but I only got a drip before I had the baby. Tons of back labor that hurt like no other Reagan was born at 10:10. She was perfect and I got to hold her skin to skin for 30 mins. As for me my cervix closed and my placenta was stuck. So I had to have surgery. All went good. I had to stay in the hospital for 2 days. Reagan got an infection and had to stay in the hospital for 4 days with an IV.
But we are all home and doing well.
Becca is going to school and she loves it. She is also doing dance and really enjoys that. Rylee stays home with me and we do some preschool. She really wants to go to school with Becca. Reagan is such a good baby and really wants to get up and play with the other two. Michael is working at the hospital as an IT specialist and enjoys his job. They are a good company to work for. I am a stay at home mom and love it. Here are some pictures enjoy.
